Break Pt 2

Sunday:
Mom took me shopping and bought me: Old Navy- skinny jeans, crop cardigan, pink going-out top, 2 lacy layering tanks; H&M- black skinny jeans [I've been craving a pair and was really overexcited to find these; they're exactly what I wanted]; B&B Works- she needed another item to use her coupon so I got hand sanitizer and a little bottle of lotion for my purse; Target- sundress, 2 pairs of flats, cute necklace, bunch of drugstore stuff. If I can find my Mom's camera I'll do a photoshoot.
At Target I found a new low-sulfate shampoo and silicone-free conditioner, which is really exciting for me. I sort of follow CurlyGirl, so it's always a big event for me when I find new, inexpensive products for daily use. I will probably always get everything else online, but I absolutely love Jessicurl; If any of you have curly hair I more than recommend it! At very least do yourself a favor and get the deep conditioner.

Monday:
I had to wake up at 6:30 to go to the lab that opens at 7 and get blood drawn because Mom doesn't believe that it's never busy before 10. I was back home at 7:20. She made a big fuss about it, but I just went back to sleep. At around 9 I woke up again and was pestered to eat something before I went in, illustrating again that my Mom doesn't know me because I've never been hungry for at least a few hours after I wake up. Anyways, I get to the periodontologist right at 9:30, which was what I thought was my appointment time. I asked how long it would take and texted my Mom telling her I'd be done in an hour. She said that she'd try to come back fifteen minutes before I'd be out.
For those of you playing at home, that means that she should have been there at 10:15. Imagine my surprise when I left the surgery room at 10:18 with no one waiting for me. I waited 5 minutes with an ice pack on my face before I texted Mom to tell her I was out. She didn't respond. I ended up waiting until 10:40, with the Novocaine wearing off by the second, for my Mom to pick me up. They had to give me a new ice pack because the original one melted.
I was not a very happy camper in the van on the ride home, particularly when I learned that my Mom thought that my appointment was at 9:45 and thus took my "I'll be done in an hour" to mean "I'll be done in an hour starting at 9:45." Which seems reasonable except that I've had 9:30 written in MY planner for a few weeks; 9:45 is when I need to be at the regular doctor on Thursday. Even if I had been in at 9:45 she would have still been ten minutes later than promised to pick up her daughter from [minor] ORAL SURGERY.
Since she picked me up late, my Rx got dropped off late and filled late. It was almost an hour and a half before I got any pain medication in me.

I bummed on the couch for the rest of the day, playing Solitaire and watching tv and movies. I recently discovered that they made a movie out of a book series that I absolutely loved in middle school, so I rented it from Redbox along with Inglourious Basterds. 3/5 and 4/5 stars, respectively.

Tuesday:
My Dad warned me that he was going to be home early to watch "the game" so I set up shop in front of the tv in my parents' bedroom to keep myself from having to move halfway through the day. By halfway through the day I mean, of course, two hours after I woke up.
I spent most of the day on gchat with the Caplyst, took a nap, then spent most of the night on msn with B.
That's about it.

Wednesday:
Woke up after 1. Still bumming around in my pjs that I put on Monday after surgery. Still haven't eaten anything since Sunday dinner [I've lost about 5 lbs]. Still haven't gotten any of the work I planned to do done.
My biggest plan for the day is taking a shower at some point so I won't be disgusting at my doctor's appointment tomorrow at 9:45 in the morning.

I finally won a blogger award that I'm proud to write about: Thank you, Another David [go read his stuff, he is definitely my favorite person I've found since joining 20sb], for the Master of Karate and Friendship Award!
Huzzah! Since David made up his own rules, I'm going to make up my own rules:
My rule for me is that I really am going to borrow my Mom's camera and take those pictures of me in my new clothes tomorrow! Heck, I might even do an HNT for the first time in forever. To tie it in with the award I'll do some wicked karate poses. If you'd like to receive this award, be one of the first three people to comment with your favorite Always Sunny quote.

My codeine definitely just kicked in because I'm feeling a lot happier than I was when I started writing this post. So that's my Spring Break so far. Hope you're all enjoying the start of Spring wherever you are. Zip it up, zip it out.

Oral surgery is the WORST! I had my wisdom teeth done a few years ago. The not being able to eat normal food was rough. Get well soon!

Karate poses rock, but only when pared successfully with a pre-ass kicking karate monologue:

"Looked dead, didn't I? Well, I wasn't. Actually, Bill's last bullet put me in a coma, a coma I was to lie in for four years. When I woke up, I went on what the movie advertisements referred to as a roaring rampage of revenge. I roared and I rampaged and I got bloody satisfaction. I've killed a hell of a lot of people to get to this point. But I have only one more. The last one, the one I'm driving to right now. The only one left. And when I arrive at my destination, I am gonna kill Bill."

Hope you feel better soon... the last time I was on painkillers (one of only two times, I promise) my parents told me about how codeine was in the cough syrup they got as kids all the time... I was both disturbed and envious. Looking forward to the pictures!

Has anyone told you that you are a great descriptive writer? I felt like I was at the doctor's office...

I'm glad you liked Inglorious Basterds. 4/5 is a great rating.

I'm looking forward to some karate poses
