Weekend Review

Friday was a meh-show, what with my last post and all. I watched SNL clips on hulu and almost drowned in sangria to make myself feel better. It was kind of strange, though: I got contacted by 4 male friends who I haven't spoken to in a while that night. One was drunk and said he wished he had hooked up with me when we were in highschool, and that he was going to make an effort to see me again soon; One threw it out there that even though it seems bleak there's probably someone out there who would work for me eventually, but that I was going to be just fine; One came over for some catch-up chat and a platonic sleepover; One sent me a cd over aim. I felt a lot better at the end of the night; I guess I have some fairy dudemothers.

Saturday Favorite Cousin and I took a day trip out to my aunt's house. The original plan was to watch our two younger cousins [ages 7 and 13] play softball, but the 13-year-old hurt her knee during a game earlier in the week [she'll be okay, but she's crutching it for a couple weeks]. We ended up watching Spongebob, playing badminton with the 13-y-o in a chair, soaking in their neighbor's pool [Fave Cousin and I were outfitted in some of our late grandmother's bathing suits that my aunt had...Stylin'], and having a cookout.
I learned that my Mom knows I have a tattoo! Favorite Cousin was at my house when I picture-messaged her my ankle back in September, and before she opened it she annouced "Oh, a message from JS" so Mom leaned over to see. Apparently she thinks it's cool, and said that if she was 20 she would want one now. She probably won't be too keen to learn that I'm planning on getting another one this summer, but knowing she's okay with me doing what I will with my own body is nice. Not like Dad, but that's a whole other topic.

Today I was in bed almost literally all day. I woke up at 8, 10, 2, 4, and 8...There was nothing on my schedule for the day and we don't have a tv yet, so I just kept going back to sleep! I'm definitely going to get wings for dinner, as Friday I was too bummed to get them [wings are comfort food, but they're also somewhat celebratory; it wouldn't have been right] and Sat I was chowing with the family.

And now it's time to ask for some opinions from the masses:
I want to start choreographing for the Dance Group Fall show, but haven't yet chosen a song. Since I usually end up hating the song I pick to choreo to, I figure why not let someone else choose? If yous could take a minute and have a listen I'd appreciate it.
1 - Pussycat Dolls "Hush Hush; Hush Hush"
This would be a jazzy mess. Expect a mandatory lipsynch when "I Will Survive" kicks in.
2 -Eli Reed "Take My Love With You" [the only version on youtube is live; it's a bit slower]
Jazzy, but more controlled/old-school Fosse-ish.
3 -The Killers "Sam's Town (Abbey Road Version)"
Ballet/lyrical. I'd prob cut off the last 30ish seconds because I just don't care for them much.
4 -Lemon Jelly "Nice Weather for Ducks"
Ballet/modern. I've loved this song for like a year but couldn't get it together.

As mentioned earlier, I'm planning on getting another tattoo...For inspiration, I've picked out some photos of my favorite neoclassical ballerina, Allegra Kent, since that's what I like to dance the best and no one looks better at it than her.
It'll have to be bigger than what I thought I originally wanted, and I'm ready to do something other than a silhouette, but I definitely only want black or black and grey. Thoughts?

I suppose I am just a fan of a basic silhouette since they always look good. I suggest a silhouette with a few accents in gray?

I also agree about a simple silhouette.

tf: that could be nice...id like it to be a little abstract but it might be prettier to have it not be just an outline/silhouette

tr: good
