Hello

I'm turning into a real-life big kid over here. Today I set up not one, but TWO doctor's appointments for myself, and yesterday I made contact with a dentist's office.

I wasn't able to get in for a physical until November (and the desk jockey thought it would be a good idea to tell me that it was because the physician only works three days a week and was leaving soon for a month-long vacation in France), but I got an appointment for a ladyparts doctor for the week after next. Which I realized -after hanging up and talking to the bosses to make sure I can get out early that day- is cutting it pretty close for my next period.
I just really, really want to get back on some birth control pills. My cycle is completely random and I hate it!

I just looked down at the Ulta catalogue/circular upon which I am cutting my fingernails. There is a new OPI nail polish color called "Uh-oh Roll Down the Window." It's green. Who would buy that? That's absurd.

Last weekend the Em and I went to a wedding. We were both pretty low-key. He had spent almost the past 20 hours in airports or on planes and I work full-time with toddlers, so just staying awake was a bit of an ordeal. Having a cash bar didn't help. And the fact that they apparently told the dj "Just play songs that white people like to hear at weddings."
The hotel sex we had was pretty good, though!

On Monday we went to see Death Cab for Cutie with his uncle and his uncle's girlfriend. I'm not a huge fan of theirs, and it was a Monday, so I didn't really want to go. I had an okay time, nothing really spectacular. I almost feel bad about it because the tickets were pretty expensive and I was a bum about going, but "I don't really know the band and I have to be at work at 7:30 the next morning" should have been a valid enough excuse to get me out of it. Oh well.

I finally FINALLY got my final grade from that freakin' online class I took. They put the grades up on a page that is in no way linked with the site that we actually took the class on, then never sent any indication that they were up somewhere. I got an A (obviously), and have submitted my transcript to the office so that I can get the ball rolling on this teacher certification thing. I can't put in my reimbursement request for a couple weeks, but I'm really, really looking forward to seeing those 500 dollars.

As for my big cleaning project from my last post: My roommates still make huge messes wherever they go and leave food out all over the place and don't take out the trash or the recycling, but at least they're doing it all on an essentially blank slate, so it's easier for me to pick it up every day or two. Le sigh.

you are a big girl now! Nicely done!

Have the roomies even noticed that you're keeping the place clean or are they just that fucking stupid?

ang: well, they still don't pick up after themselves, and they haven't said anything about "hey, nice job on keeping our house from looking like a fucking landfill," so my guess is they think we've got an infestation of magic cleaning fairies
