During out family Memorial Day party, I started a joke by saying a piece of advice followed by "hashtag words of wisdom." Since then, we've been periodically giving her freshman-year nuggets with that label attached.
My older cousin and I have been putting together a #WordsOfWisdom bag to give to her on Sunday and I wanted to share what we have so far. Everything is labelled with it's own #hashtag-filled 140-character blurb:
Baby Powder: Use this to get rid of sandy cheeks after #BeachVolleyball
Gummy Worms: Hook some new #friends by sharing #treats
Nail Polishes: A nice #manicure can brighten up a rainy afternoon

On Sunday we're going out for a final shop together... We're going to get her a pair of flip-flops (Communal showers #NuffSaid), a Chipotle card (If you don't like #Chipotle, we might not be #related), and a reusable water bottle (Stay #hydrated! And don't fill this with anything naughty, you'll never get the #fumes out) and a cute bag to put it all in.
I also have a #tbt picture of all us cousins from probably 2001 that I put in a frame for her to take.

Sounds like a fantastic box.
Speaking from my experiences, I'd throw in an emergency roll of toilet paper, tylenol (for the nights when she parties too hard), and a "drunk text" card to go in her wallet -- which is basically a list of names/numbers of people to text when she's drunk instead of accidentally texting something dumb or that she'll regret to the wrong person. I knew someone who's friends did that for her in college, and it worked really well. :)
Excellent college starter kit! You should add some socks and underwear #dolaundrylessoften, my roommates had a "leaving checklist" that was posted inside the door "keys, wallet, phone" still do it mentally to this day, and extra phone cords for when hers inevitably get lost or stolen.

Hopefully I'm not too late to the party but I'd throw in a pair of eyeshades- never know when she'll want to sleep in, or if her roommate will have early classes and insist on turning on all the lights in the dorm room!
