Wedding Season

It is definitely wedding season in my life... About two years ago J and I attended our first wedding as a couple, and it's been almost non-stop since then. Before then I had been to maybe 2 weddings of distant cousins and that's it.
J was in his cousin's wedding a few weeks ago and I was in my friend's on Saturday. Another one of my college friends is getting married in October, two days after his friend from the Marines. (Odds are we'll skip the Marine one to save us the cost of a flight and hotel.)

I've mentioned before how I've been semi-planning the details of my own wedding for a while now, but there are a few things that you just can't plan for.
This past weekend, the bus drivers that brought guests to and from the venue were terrible- The first bus got lost and took 45 minutes to get from the hotel to the venue- what should have been a 15-minute trip. Because of this, the final bus (the one J was on) was well over an hour and a half late: all the guests on that bus missed the ceremony and most of the cocktail hour. They were supposed to start picking guests up from the venue at around 10pm, but none showed up until almost 11. Then the 15-minute trip back to the hotel took over an hour.
Once we finally got back to the hotel, I discovered a used band-aid on the rim of one of the drinking glasses in the bathroom...disgusting!
Plus, the day before the wedding I accidentally took my sleep aid at 11am and was dragging ass all day. I had packed it with my 11am pills with the intention of moving it to the empty compartment after taking my 9am pills. I completely forgot and couldn't figure out why I was so tired until it hit me at about 6pm. Oops.

Obviously none of this was anything the bride and groom had any say over, but it goes to show that despite the best planning in the world anything can happen.

What's the most unexpected thing you've ever encountered at a wedding?
